Long Ash Cigars

Ybor City · Tampa, FL

You see the room before you reach the door — a torcedor at the front window, rolling the day's cigars by hand, the way Ybor has since 1886.

Long Ash makes its whole case in that window. Everything here is rolled in-house, from scratch, and most days you can watch it happen — the leaf, the bunch, the cap — before you ever pick one up. It's craft as theater, and it's the real thing, not a show put on for tourists.

The Roll

This is the reason to come. The cigars are hand-rolled on-site, fairly priced, and the people at the bench will happily walk you through what you're smoking. Ask a question and you'll learn something — about the leaf, the blend, the city that made both.

The Room

Family-owned and unhurried: worn sofas and lounge chairs, warm light, and enough room between seats for a real conversation or the easy quiet of good company. The detail that separates a good room from a merely smoky one — a serious smoke-eater keeps the air clean enough for anyone at the table.

The Bar

Local beer, wine, and some of the best Cuban coffee in the neighborhood — a café con leche, or a black cup that could raise the dead. It isn't a full liquor bar. It's the right bar for this room.

Why We Picked It

Because it's the whole of Ybor in one storefront: heritage you can watch, a room you can settle into, and a cigar rolled ten feet from where you'll smoke it. The showstopper out front is real. So is the sit behind it.
