Casa de Montecristo Countryside

Twenty-five minutes southwest of the Loop sits the room that launched a national chain — and it's still the biggest and best-equipped cigar destination in Chicagoland.

The Countryside store grew into the seed of the Casa de Montecristo network now run by Tabacalera USA, and at 8,200 square feet it remains the flagship. This is where scale becomes an amenity: a walk-in humidor, a rare-and-vintage room, and — by the store's account — the first computer-controlled cigar aging room installed at U.S. retail.

The Rooms

Upstairs, a public lounge with leather seating, screens, and a fireplace. Downstairs, reached by private elevator, a VIP lounge with a marble seating bar, a conference room, and a theater room. Complimentary coffee, soft drinks, and water keep the BYOB arrangement civilized when you haven't brought a bottle.

The Collector's Draw

This has been the exclusive annual home of Drew Estate's Liga Privada Único UF4 since 2010 — the kind of allocation that makes cigar people plan trips. The event calendar backs it up: Davidoff release dinners and Montecristo anniversary launches booked well into 2026.

The Hours

The rare early bird of Chicago smoke — doors open at seven most mornings, which no other room here can say. A cigar with your first coffee, in a room built to age it properly, is a particular kind of luxury.
