The Austin original. Michael Rocha opened Habana House in 2000, grew it out of a corner in the old Ruta Maya coffee house, and planted it on South Congress in 2013 — a quarter-century of building the same room. A custom Spanish-cedar walk-in holds one of the deepest selections in the city, the seating is easy, and the bottle is yours to bring. This is what becoming a regular looks like.
South Congress to the East Side
The most polished room in town: big humidors, ventilation good enough for a mixed group, a patio, and tobacconists who know the wall. The national name, done at the high end.
The highest marks in the city, and it earns them: an easy indoor lounge, a shaded back patio built around a fire pit, personal lockers, and doors open late on the weekend. Pure East Side.
